FAQs About Grout Cleaning

Q. Why should I get tile & grout cleaning when I can simply mop it? Won’t that do the trick?

A. Mopping alone cannot achieve the kind of results that Acadiana Turbo Clean can. In fact, when you mop your tile you often make the grout dirtier. Mops are soft while tiles and grout are hard. How can that work, except for surface dirt only. You may get the tile surface clean but the dirt on the mop gets shoved around and into the porous and rough grout, actually making it worse. We power down and focus on the grout for a deep and powerful clean.

Q. How often do you have to clean the grout once it is color sealed?

A. We recommend you should clean your floor once a week using a Neutral Cleaner. When cleaning the floor, it’s important to change your mop water when it appears dirty. That way, you aren’t just making the floor dirty over and over again. Always use a mop to agitate the cleaning agent on a grouted surface. Dry the grout with a towel or terry cloth. Should any area have dried up surface stains on it, simply spot clean with straight cleaner.

Q. How often do you have to re-color the grout after first application?

A. Depending on conditions and with proper maintenance, the grout color restoration sealer can last for up to 10 years or more.

Q. What items does Acadiana Turbo Clean clean?

A. We specialize in cleaning wall and floor, tile and grout. If you have any kind of tile, we can clean it! We also clean other hard surfaces such as cement, wood decks, terrazzo, travertine and flagstone, as well as many other hard surfaces. With a proper inspection, we can tell you what can be done with your surface.

Q. Can you guarantee the tile and grout cleaning results?

A. It is impossible to guarantee how clean a given area will look like. Some tile floors are thirty or more years old and have never had a comprehensive cleaning. However, even with these old floors we can often achieve great results and breathe new life into your tile. If the grout does not come as clean as expected, we would recommend a grout color sealer to achieve consistency, rather than a clear sealer. Before you replace it, you should try restoring it, as it may save you thousands of dollars.

Q. Do you offer any warranty on the color seal?

A. We offer a one year limited warranty on our Color Restoration Sealing process and can extend it for up to ten years with an annual Maintenance Cleaning plan.

Q. I’m thinking of selling my home, should I put a new bathroom in or restore the existing one?

A. Most real estate investors agree that the three most important rooms in determining a home’s value are the Kitchen, Bathroom and the master bedroom. You can spend tens of thousands of dollars to totally replace these rooms but often you will likely see little profit after deducting these costs. However, if you spend just a few hundred restoring these key rooms you can add thousands to the value of your home and put money in your pocket! Even if you are not selling, proper maintenance is important to maintaining your home’s value and beauty and can prevent major health or structural problems before they happen.

Q. Wouldn’t it just be easier to replace my tile floor or wall tile?

A. There are many downfalls to replacing your bathroom or kitchen tile. First, the huge cost. Replacing a bathroom in the New Orleans area will cost you from $5,000 to $10,000 or more. Furthermore, you will have to give up your privacy and deal with work crews. You may also have to obtain building permits, deal with local inspectors and the huge mess and headache involved with the gutting of your bathroom. Next, you will have to buy all the needed tile and decide on a style for your new room. All this can take several weeks. Plus, what if you only have one bathroom in your house? That could be a huge problem. It takes very deep pockets to install new flooring. There’s the up-front expense, the cost of down time and the agony of construction headaches.

With Acadiana Turbo Clean, you won’t need new flooring. Acadiana Turbo Clean can make old tile and grout look like new and preserve the craftsmanship of older tile floors. When they made tiles in the old days, they usually made them to last. We just inherited the task of keeping them clean and as new looking as possible.

Not only that, putting down new flooring does not fix the problem. Eventually, you’ll be right back where you started with old dingy grout. If it got dirty in the past, it will get dirty again. The solution is in maintenance. Acadiana Turbo Clean will maintain your tile floors and their grout.

The Acadiana Turbo Clean solution can prevent the problem and make your grout and tile look like new again. Use us on a regular basis and you’ll never have to worry about bacteria laden and dingy looking tile and grout again. And, like washing your car, cleaning helps lengthen the life of your floors.
